Faith Academy is thrilled to shine our latest Faculty Spotlight on someone who’s no stranger to a literal spotlight: our theater director, Caroline Whiteside! Caroline’s passion for teaching children and helping them use their talents for God’s glory has been a great blessing.
Caroline is a native Wichitan and grew up participating in a wide variety of local fine arts programs. A graduate of Maize Virtual Preparatory School, she attended Butler Community College on a vocal music scholarship, where she was an active member and choreographer for the Headliners Show Choir. Upon receiving her Associate’s Degree in Secondary Education, Caroline enrolled at Friends University, where she is completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Education. She has been blessed with the opportunity to work with youth music and theater programs around Wichita, including Christian Youth Theater, Classical School of Wichita, Douglass High School, and Music Together, a parent-child music class.
Although new to the Faith Academy family, Caroline feels right at home. “I love being part of a school that has Christian values,” she says, “and I enjoy building relationships with all the students and watching them grow as performers.” She’s also eagerly anticipating the Christmas program on December 12th. “The students have been working very hard, and I’m thrilled with their progress!”
Caroline and her husband, Christian, have just celebrated their first year of married life. They love spending time together and helping mentor students in their church’s high school youth group. When not teaching, studying, or prepping students for an upcoming performance, Caroline can be found reading and indulging her passion for coffee. We’re grateful to have you as part of our school, Caroline! Thanks so much for all you do for our students!
